Onslow County Board of Education Chairman Ken Reddic has released a letter to the public addressing allegations by a fellow board member that there was improper conduct by the board and district staff at a May 2022 meeting.
The Daily News obtained a copy of a letter released by board member Angie Todd to the community on Dec. 3, in which Todd says there was an eyewitness to the May 3, 2022 board meeting who allegedly saw the meeting agenda be amended before the agenda was adopted.

Ken Reddic, chair of the Onslow County Board of Education, delivered these comments at the December meeting of the board. These remarks were made in response to a statement released by board of education member Angie Todd on Dec. 3 about business the board has conducted previously. The original statement alleges improper conduct by previous board members and district staff regarding the May 3, 2022, meeting, which included an extension of the superintendent’s contract.

I welcome, value and respect the citizens of Onslow County and their participation and comments at our Onslow County Board of Education meetings. Whether someone is relaying feedback, asking for help, sharing ideas or grievances, or bringing an issue to our attention, the public comments are very advantageous to me because they are an integral part of understanding one another, an opportunity for positive growth, and can bring needed resolution(s) to issues we may not have been aware of otherwise.
